How Not to Trend

I just googled Pusateris, a high-end grocery store in Toronto. The company was trending yesterday. If you live in the Greater Toronto Region, you are likely aware of the reason. If you don't know why, a quick scan below will make it crystal clear.

What a colossal misstep!

Wouldn't it be ironic if someone on the Pusateri team had read Mark Cuban cautioning words just the day before? He said companies should watch their actions in these Covid-19 times as the impact on their brands will be long lasting. I couldn't agree more.

The Pusateri case shows us what immediate backlash looks like, and it's not pretty. It's easy for us to take heed. But what about the medium-term and long-term implications of our actions? While we're all busy coping and adjusting to the crisis, let's try to communicate and act in a way that not only serves us now, but later.
