Gloria Steinem said "Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning."
Are you dreaming as much as you could be? Dreaming with your eyes wide open doesn't come naturally for many of us. Could it have anything to do with the disparaging tone often accompanying words like daydreamer or dreamer? Possibly. Who ever aspired to be a dreamer?
Could it have anything to do with not regularly being in an environment that is conducive to dreaming? Perhaps.
I love the notion that dreaming is a form of planning. It makes good sense to me. Back in 2013, while wrestling to figure out what was next, I came to understand that the best way for me to progress (dream up possibilities), was to walk to this spot overlooking Barcelona on the walking path behind our house. I took this picture while dreaming up the future I'm living now.
Make time to dream about the growth you'd love in your career.
Can you find some time everyday?
Where are you able to dream best?
What activity brings out the dreamer in you?
Is there a time of day that works for you?
Pay attention to what works and consider making it a new habit. I'll let Coldplay take us out in a celebration of dreaming!
Have a wonderful week!
